Trialling new activities for people with learning disabilities

It’s #LearningDisabilityWeek and we’re excited to share with you some work we’ve been doing trialling new activities for people with learning disabilities.

Thanks to Third Sector Leaders, we received a grant to run 6 free creative activities at Kirklees College and MENCAP Waverley Hall where participants created art work to be projected and to be worn on t-shirts!

Being creative makes us feel good, and we had some fantastic feedback from participants who said that taking part was good for their wellbeing, they felt a positive effect on their self confidence and self-esteem, and that the social space in hoot activities made them feel more relaxed.

Watch this space for a new programme of work actively involving people with learning disabilities from hoot.
