16 organisations funded to provide music activities

Creative Minds funding awards

Kirklees Year Of Music 2023 has partnered with Creative Minds, a local award-winning NHS charity hosted by South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust and Locala Health & Wellbeing to fund 16 projects as part of our Health & Wellbeing strand.

16 local not-for-profit organisations have been commissioned to provide music related activities for a wide range of people of all ages, from all across Kirklees. This incorporates singing, dance, creating new music, drumming, festivals, workshops, social events with music, event training, learning about music, volunteering opportunities and a new choir for South Asian women.

The 16 commissioned organisations include: Holmfirth Arts Festival, Yorkshire Youth & Music, Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust, Huddersfield Mission, Lawrence Batley Theatre, The Watershed and Be More Outdoors in Slaithwaite, Murkika, Shabang, Aspire Voices, Chol Theatre and The Childrens Art School.
